Story
First Met:
Geo and David met the modern way: online in 2022 when Geo was pursuing M.Ed. in Toronto, Canada. It was shortly after David's baptism in April that year. Despite different native language, geographical, and cultural background, they somehow clicked and opened to each other by sharing life stories and their spiritual journey with Lord. After chatting online for almost a month, they enjoyed the first date in an evening walk by Harborfront, where David learnt more about Geo's journey in Canada, especially her impression of Toronto malls, and Geo learnt how talkative David was when nervous.
Dating:
While the first date went well, the feeling of uncertainty about the future remained in both hearts, especially with Geo heading back home after study. The rest of 2022 marked their journey in growing hearts fonder while learning to surrender their future to Lord. From culinary exploration and beach stroll to attending Sunday sermons and doing devotionals together, they realized that they are closer than they thought. The superficial differences between them are in fact Lord's blessings upon the relationship that train them to surrender to Lord and to reconcile with each other via open communication.
The Proposal:
David proposed to Geo at a Niagara Fall get-away near Christmas. Despite knowing her for just 7 months, he felt extremely grateful to Lord for bringing such a big-hearted and faithful girl into his life. After a long emotional talk sharing their reflections, Geo said yes!
Everything seemed so magical that night, with one tiny exception. David learnt that proposing in a Ferris Wheel cabin is not as glamorous as people think, especially on a windy winter night.
